These are low cost houses when bought by the clients. Upon move in, the clients realized that heat is unbearable due to very low ceiling and lack of vegetation around the area. 

 

The clients do not want to put up airconditioning unit as a solution to the heat problem because of both the short term and long term costs that it involves. They also don't want to do any major renovations due to budget constraints.

 

A green roofed house was found to be the most practical and best solution. No need to buy and maintain expensive cooling sytem and no more reason to pay high electricity bills.

 

To top it all, what can be more beautiful than a shelter that has a garden for its roof? Healthy for the occupants, healthy for the wallet and healthy for mother earth.
